Every week, churches are holding contemporary worship services in sanctuaries that were not designed to handle the sounds of today's worship styles. In order to control the volume of the drums, many churches turn to electronic drums as the solution for a more balanced sound. While electronic drums are an excellent choice, many drummers resisted and complained that they just didn't feel natural. Many electronic kits use a mesh or rubber playing surface which is either too hard or too bouncy to the drummer. The worship leader was left in a tough spot between creating a pleasant atmosphere for praise and worship and keeping the musicians satisfied. In an attempt to satisfy the drummer and the worship leader, RET created the first Natural Series custom shop electronic drum kit in 2000. The second generation of kits, called The Fusion Series, is designed for all types of worship music and gives drummers the look and feel they have always wanted, while giving the sound engineer and worship leader control over the volume of the drums.
